PCMCIA BootDisk

The BovisTech Laptop install and CD-Rom driver disk, this has current support for 3com cards only although it can easily be modified for others (space permitting). Current supported cards are 3Com 3C562D, 3Com 3C589D-Combo and the 3Com 3C574BT, you can also use this disk to install on the fly IDE CD-Rom drivers. Included on this disk is NTFS2DOS from SysInternals so that you can read and copy files from an NTFS formatted drive to a network share, this is only the shareware version which allows read only, visit their website for purchasing details of the full read/write version. This disk is Perfect for disaster recovery of files from a failed NT4 laptop.

This disk will work on either a Windows 9x or Dos6.xx disk (see MS Boot-Disks).

This is quite a simple disk to modify, the config.sys file contains the standard MS-Dos Menu system which you can edit to add or remove options. Within the config.sys menu options you will also see that the 3Com point enablers are being used to install the cut-down card & socket services you can simply modify these sections for any other cards you may use although these point-enablers will only work with 3Com cards and no others.

TCPIPBootDisk

This disk is a standard TCP/IP network bootdisk that enables you to connect to a network share on a Windows NT4 or Windows 9x machine using a range of PCI network cards. This disk is very easy to modify and add your own network cards.
This disk will work on either a Windows 9x or Dos6.xx disk.
To modify this bootdisk you will need to edit the Config.sys file to add your own menu items into it. The menu item label should be the same as the network card you are using (or at least the same as you have called the driver file) for example, if your menu item is
MENUITEM=n100, Compaq N100 network card
then your driver would be called n100.dos and your protocol.ini file would be called n100.ini
The protocol.ini file and the driver should be added to the Variable.cab file using PowerArchiver/WinZip/WinRAR notice that this file is NOT a zip file but is a cab file and will NOT work is you just rename a zip file to .cab.
